News
Your News section is the perfect place to highlight important events that involve your organization. Was an organization member recently awarded a prize or distinction? Create a news story. Did the organization recently take part in a noteworthy event, like a local charity fundraiser? Create a news story.
Adding News
When adding a News story, you can include a headline, a story and even a featured photo. You have the option to allow just site admins to post news, or allow any website visitor to post news as well. If you allow non-admins to post news, they will be shown a button to post News from the public view of your site. The options for News permissions are listed at the bottom of the News section.
Editing/Deleting News
Once you add a post in your News section, you can update it at any time. To update any post, click the orange Edit icon under the bottom left corner of your News section. Once you click it, you'll see an Edit and Delete icon next to every post; click the Edit icon to simply change some content in a post, and click the Delete icon to completely erase a post.
Comments
For each News story posted, a comments thread is generated. A "comments" icon will appear next to each story; if selected, visitors can go to the story's comments page, and view and post comments. If you do not want to give people the option to post comments, you can completely disable commenting by checking off the Disable Comments option at the bottom of the News page.
Sharing Your News
To share your information with people, all you need to do is direct them to your website's URL. Once on your Home page, they'll see your News icon, and can click it to access your information. If you'd like, you can even direct people right to your News page, without them having to go to your Home page first. Learn more about sharing information on your site.
